That is why buyers, sellers, and homeowners often ask: what does a home inspector check? A professional inspection brings the home’s visible systems and components into focus, helping you understand what is working, what needs attention, and what may affect your next decision.

A home inspection is not a pass-or-fail test, and it is not a guarantee that every future repair can be predicted. It is a careful, noninvasive evaluation of the home’s accessible and visible condition on the day of the inspection. The goal is clear, actionable information you can use to plan repairs, negotiate thoughtfully, prepare a listing, or protect the home you already own.

What Does a Home Inspector Check During a Full Inspection?

Roof, attic, and exterior drainage
